Shared Components

Shared Tools are used to store functions that can be called by programs to perform certain tasks. They can be shared by multiple applications to reduce memory and disk space requirements.

If a program was moved to another location or uninstalled incorrectly, the registry entries no longer refer to the actual location of the files and the applications are unable to find them.

These orphaned registry entries can cause loss of efficiency of the applications that use functions stored in the missing files. Deletion of such erroneous registry entries is necessary for correct installation of other new programs.
